Mayor Jan Liggett is a member of the GrandBridge Corporation Board of Directors.

Jan Liggett was elected to Cambridge City Council in 2014 to represent Ward 4, serving on several committees focused on economic development, arts and revitalization. After eight years as Councillor, she was elected Mayor for the 2022–2026 term and also sits
on Regional Council.

As Mayor, Jan has focused on economic growth, job creation, and supporting local businesses. She’s also been a strong advocate for addressing the mental health and addictions crisis, including commissioning a province-wide public opinion poll to guide solutions.

Jan brings entrepreneurial experience as co-owner of Garden Gate Ltd. and Benabec Architectural Precast, where she supported inclusive hiring through programs like The John Howard Society. She also co-founded the international Ornamental Concrete
Producers Association and served as Co-President. Her community involvement includes founding The Fallen Sparrows Fund for families of critically ill children, leading Heritage Cambridge, and serving on boards such as the Grand River Film Festival and Kiwanis Club. She contributed over 15 years to the Grand River Conservation Authority and was instrumental in protecting the lands now known as the rare Charitable Research Reserve.

As Vice Chair of the Legacy Cambridge Task Force, a committee of council, she coauthored the Heritage Master Plan recommendation report which went on to become the City of Cambridge’s Heritage Master Plan. She served as a member of the Blair Heritage District Plan committee, also a committee of council. She is a member of the Ontario Big City Mayors (OBCM), and Ontario Auto Mayors Caucus
