Mayor Susan Foxton

Mayor Susan Foxton is a member of the GrandBridge Corporation Board of Directors.
After serving 14 years as Councillor for Ward 1 in North Dumfries Township, Sue entered the race for Mayor and succeeded in 2014 and 2018. Seeking re-election in 2022 she was once again successful in confirming her place as Mayor and Regional Councillor for the 2022 to 2026 term. She is now serving her third term as Mayor and Regional Councillor for the 2022 to 2026 term.
As a member of Regional Council, Sue believes in a strong Region of Waterloo which enables and reinforces the strength of the seven municipalities which make up the Region of Waterloo.
She graduated from the Recreation and Leadership program at Conestoga College as well as Advanced Business Application and also holds a Canada Customs Introduction to Customs and Customs Duty Drawback.
Sue established and Chaired the Police Advisory Committee in North Dumfries for 32 years, Seniors Advisory Committee, Chair of TAPMO (Top Aggregate Producing Municipalities of Ontario) for six years, Board member of SWIFT (Provincial Committee to provide high speed internet to Southwestern Ontario), Board member and past Vice Chair of GRCA and a Warden of Christ Anglican Church.
She has also volunteered at a grassroots level organizing blood donor clinics, teaching learn to skate and swimming as well as coaching hockey and ringette. Past employment included Youth and Preschool Director, Life Skills Coach, Aquatic Director and Inventory Planning and Logistics Coordinator.
Sue retired from her job and chose to dedicate her time working for the people of North Dumfries when she was successful at her run for Mayor.
She and her husband have three children, Denise Vanderhorst (Peter), Amber Stirling (Mark) and Corey Foxton and four beautiful grandchildren, Lily, Ellea, Preston and Aiden.
